6 Month Wedding Planning Checklist

Make sure you save this wedding planning guide and check back to avoid missing important details for your big day.

6th Month Wedding Planning Checklist – The Essentials

After saying “Yes” to your groom-to-be, you now need to understand the whole wedding planning process.

First on our wedding planning checklist is setting the date and place.

Then, you have to set the budget for the wedding.

After that, you will need to list down your guest list. And once you have the approximate number of your guests, you can now also list down your entourage.

These things will set the tone of the whole wedding process, it’s very crucial for our next step.

4-5th Month Wedding Planning Checklist – Book Major Suppliers

Once you established the date, place, budget, and guest list, you can now proceed with booking the major suppliers.

When you start inquiring about these suppliers, you will need to send them the essential details I mentioned. The date, place, budget, and size of the guest list will help determine the supplier’s availability.

Aside from the essentials, you also have to start thinking about your wedding colors or wedding motif.

Major Wedding Supplier includes:

3 Months from Wedding Day – Process Legal Requirements

For those planning a church wedding, it is advisable that you pay a visit to your preferred church to ask for the church wedding requirements. Then, you will also have to visit your Municipal or City Hall for the legal requirements.

One of the legal requirements is called CENOMAR or Certificate of No Marriage Record. You can obtain this from PSA or Philippine Statistics Authority. It has 6 months validity.

“In legal definitions for interpersonal status, a single person is someone who has never been married. A person who was previously married and was divorced or widowed is usually considered an “unmarried” person. If a marriage is annulled, however, or it is found to have been void ab initio (i.e. not valid in law to start with), and assuming the person was not married previously, that individual is single, rather than unmarried.” – PSA

When requesting for a CENOMAR, the interested party shall provide the following information to facilitate verification and issuance of certification.

  • Complete name of the person
  • Complete name of the father
  • The full maiden name of the mother
  • Date of birth
  • Place of birth
  • Complete name and address of the requesting party
  • Number of copies needed
  • Purpose of the certification

And one of the most important documents is called Marriage License. It has 120 days of validity. You will need to have a personal appearance to your Municipal or City Hall to get this.

2 Months from Wedding Day – Book Minor Suppliers

After completing the essentials, booking major wedding suppliers, and obtaining all the requirements, you can now proceed with your minor suppliers.

For the minor suppliers, you actually have 3 options. You can book a supplier, you can DIY or Do it Yourself, or totally remove them in case you exceed the budget.

Minor suppliers include wedding invitation, bridal car, wedding cake, wedding souvenirs, OTD Coordinator, crew meal supplier, and grazing table.

1 Months from Wedding Day – Take Good Care of Yourself

Now that we are just a month away from your big day, you should take good care of yourself, too.

Visit your dermatologist, go to a spa and relax, and color your hair. You need to look good because you’ll never know, your bride squad might plan an exciting bridal shower for you!

And it’s also the best time to shop for your shoes, accessories, pieces of jewelry, perfume, and gifts for your entourage.

A Week from Wedding Day – Double Check Everything

I know how it feels, you are so close to your much-awaited big day!

Don’t worry because you just need to double-check everything with your suppliers. Then, you can pick up things, distribute dresses, and delegate some tasks to your bridesmaids and groomsmen.

And remember, you have to be the most beautiful girl for your wedding. So don’t panic.

A Day from Wedding Day – Turnover and Relax!

Tomorrow is the big day! Just make sure you endorse everything properly to your Coordinator or Maid of Honor.

If you have a cash balance to your suppliers, make sure you arrange an envelope for each so you won’t have to worry about cash shortage. Label them.

Label your things per box. If you and your groom will stay in different rooms, don’t mix your things with them.

Have an 8-hour full sleep. You need to be 100% for your big day. You can do it!

That’s it! I hope you find this church wedding planning checklist helpful. If you need an online wedding planning tool to help you with budget tracking, RSVP tracking, and to organize your wedding calendar, you can check out Wedding Planning for the Clueless Bride-to-be eBook.
